Milton Armstrong, M.D., ’82, Hand Surgery
Dr. Armstrong’s career in plastic surgery has taken him to Pennsylvania, Louisiana, Texas, Ohio, Florida and currently, South Carolina, where he is the chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. He specializes in Plastic Surgery/Hand Surgery.
He completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine program in Houston, Texas. He established a curriculum for educating Plastic Surgery residents in hand surgery, was dean of Student Affairs and later dean of Minority Student Affairs at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He then became chief of Plastic Surgery at the Miami Veteran’s Affairs Hospital at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine. There he helped establish a Section of Hand and Microsurgery. Dr. Armstrong edited a textbook, "Lower Extremity Trauma". He has authored numerous book chapters and has more than 25 peer-reviewed articles. He is board certified in plastic surgery and earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery.
His family includes his fiancee, Lewann Harper-Airall, and two sons, Christopher and Bryan.
