Diane Hillard-Sembell, M.D., ’86, Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Hillard-Sembell, employed with Springfield Clinic Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, provides sports medicine service as an orthopaedic consultant to the University of Illinois at Springfield. She spends numerous volunteer hours covering local high school athletic events. She is the medical director of AthletiCare Sports Medicine program and as the Chairman of Orthopaedic Surgery at St. John’s Hospital. Her special interest is sports injury prevention, especially treatment and prevention of ACL injuries in female athletes. She has served as scholarship chair and mentor for the Illinois Women in Leadership. She is a clinical associate professor for SIU School of Medicine orthopaedic residency program. Diane has been married to Mark since 1986, and they have one son, Evan. She remains active in many sports and especially enjoys triathlon competition.
