The Faculty Achievement Award in Research Program
Relevant to implementation of the FAAR program, forms have been made available on the Office of the Comptroller's intranet web site under "policies and guidelines". Included are a process explanation ("Read Me First") and three forms that are to be completed as indicated in the process. Detailed information regarding the goals, background and features of the program is available in this FAAR Program pdf file.
Soon after the holidays, Bob Ross will send each department a spread sheet that summarizes the awards that would have been due to faculty had the program been in place for FY 2007.
This information is provided to allow departmental planning for FY 2008. However Chairs and business managers should recognize that amounts due to individual faculty may vary substantially from year to year. As indicated in the process attachment, the Office of Financial Affairs will provide this information to departments as soon as feasible after the close of FY managers based on 10% of monthly salary release and IDC allocation to each department. questions about implementation of the process. Also, keep in mind that the FAAR
program is in a two-year trial phase. Therefore, we welcome any suggestions for
improving the process, as these may be implemented in the future as we fine-tune the
program.
