Implementation of the Faculty Achievement Award in Research Program

To achieve the goals of Southern @ 150, the School of Medicine must substantially expand its research productivity. Growth in non-state revenue can support the hiring and retention of additional qualified research faculty, as well as space, equipment, and protected time for research for new and current faculty.

Excellence through Commitment Awards Program - Outstanding Scholar Award

Advancing the science of medicine is a critical and internationally recognized feature of American medical schools. The Outstanding Scholar Award of the SIU School of Medicine is awarded to individuals who exemplify scholarship in biomedical research and are recognized by other scholars in their field as having made outstanding contributions to their discipline. Conflict of Interest Information

SIU School of Medicine encourages its employees to participate in sponsored research, to consult widely, and to engage in other activities that may benefit not only the participants but also the medical school and the public. However, while the medical school recognizes the benefits of such activities, it is also committed to ensuring that they are done properly.
