Research Interests: Aging and neurodegeneration in the sensory systems.
Techniques and Methodologies: psychophyics, single unit recording, signal detection theory, item response theory, information theory, experimental statistics

Equipment:

programable noise exposure setup. The computer system used for statistical analysis is a AMD Athlon processor operating @ 1.3 GHz with performance enhancing cache, 512 MB of Pc133 SDRAM, 30 GB Hard Drive, 32 MB nVidia M64 TNT2 video, 12x8x32 CD RW Drive, 52x CD-ROM Drive, 3 COM 10/100 PCI Ethernet adapter, 104 keyboard, Scrolling Mouse, 250MB Internal Zip Drive, Windows 2000 Professional Operating System, Microsoft Office XP Pro, and the following statistical software: SAS 8, SPSS 11.5, SYSTAT 10, NCSS 2000, Prism 3.0, Mathcad 2000, PASS 6.0, Gpower, GraphPad InStat, and GraphPad StatMate as well as a plethera of custom statistical software written and maintained by Dr. Hughes.
