Developing a Regional, Collaborative, Integrated Curriculum in Population Health This planning grant to design and implement a Regional Medicine Public Health Education Center at SIU School of Medicine under a partnership agreement between the AAMC and the CDC. Medical school curriculum will be designed in population health and prevention domains with extensive collaboration among medical school faculty and partners from state and local health departments in the service region of the school. Use of Faith-Based Healers in the Rural South
This substudy of the RWJ Southern Regional Access Program Evaluation Project (D. E. Pathman, PI) utilized telephone survey data to determine factors associated with the use of faith-based healers in a population-based sample of rural southern residents.

Psychiatry Service Delivery to a Native American Population
This telehealth implementation pilot project (S. Vicari, PI) demonstrated a model for long-distance delivery of psychiatric services to patients and in-service educational programming for staff at a rural Indian Health Service Hospital in Rosebud, SD.

ESWIM ? Prevalence of Health-Related Behaviors Among Physicians and Medical Trainees This cross-sectional analysis of wellness-related data from the Empathy, Spirituality and Wellness Survey assesses the prevalence of various health-related behaviors in a survey of over 1,000 physicians, residents and medical students. Exploration of the impact of age, gender, ethnicity and level of training on these behaviors is performed.

Clinically Relevant Outcomes for Acupuncture in an Academic Family Practice Center
This prospective cohort study (R. Coeyteaux, PI) utilizes patient survey data, insurance and other fiscal information to describe patient-centered outcomes from an eight-week course of treatment in an acupuncture clinic housed within an academic family practice center. Role: Co-Investigator

This substudy of the Physician Worklife Study Update (T. R. Konrad, PI), utilizes a combined quantitative/qualitative analysis of telephone interview data from physicians age 45-62 to describe life course events as they relate to physician career change decisions.
