Sessions will be held in the South Auditorium in Springfield and videoconferenced to Carbondale – Lindegren 310 and Wheeler 104.

Dr. Wesley McNeeseWesley Robinson-McNeese, M.D
Class of '86

We proudly congratulate Dr. Wesley Robinson-McNeese on his well-deserved nomination for the State Journal Register's 47th Annual First Citizen Award in Springfield. The recipients of the award include educators, doctors and community volunteers. Their backgrounds may be different but all share a legacy of giving back to the community. Dr. Robinson-McNeese is executive assistant to the dean for diversity at SIU SOM and an associate professor of internal medicine. He is also a minister at the New Mission Church of God with the services held at the Washington Street Mission. Through his association with the Springfield Ministerial Alliance, which he serves as president, Dr. McNeese spearheaded the planning and implementation of events during 2008's Year of Reconciliation to commemorate the 1908 Springfield race riot. The person who nominated Dr. McNeese said he has been working quietly to improve racial harmony in Springfield. We congratulate Dr. Robinson-McNeese on his service and devotion to the community (and to SIU SOM) along with this nomination!
