Hotel Accommodations

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hilton Springfield Hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Springfield at 700 East Adams Street. Parking is convenient in the adjacent municipally-owned parking garage. The current parking rate is $8.00 per day.

Make hotel reservations online via the Hilton's personalized group page, available here >. You may also reserve by phone at 217-789-1530. If making reservations by phone, be sure to mention you are with "SIU School of Medicine Reunion" to receive the special rate of $109 single, double, triple or quad occupancy. Hotel room rates are subject to applicable state and local taxes in effect at the time of check in. Non-smoking rooms have been requested.

The room block will be held until May 30^th when it will be released to the general public. The Hilton Hotel will accept reservations only on a space availability basis after the May 30^th cut-off date. Guest rooms and the reduced special rate may not be available after the cut-off date.

Friday, June 21, 2013
6:10 - 7:00 p.m.	Transportation to Island Bay Yacht Club via Harmony Limousine Service. Departure from front doors (Adams Street) of the Hilton Hotel.
6:30 - 9:00 p.m.	All Class Years Island Bay Yacht Club 76 Yacht Club Road Map & Driving Directions Enjoy an evening with classmates on the outdoor patio overlooking Lake Springfield. Distinct areas will be established for each class year. Casual dress is recommended; sweaters or light jackets are encouraged due to lake breezes. Families are welcome to attend. The outdoor heated pool will be available for children, a life guard will be on duty. (The pool closes at 8:00 p.m.) A game area will be organized for children who do not wish to swim, but a parent must accompany the child.
8:30 & 9:00 p.m.	Return shuttles to the Hilton Hotel

10:30 - 11:30 a.m.	Walking tour of campus conducted by student ambassadors and Dr. J. Kevin Dorsey, Dean and Provost. Tour will gather in the Pearson Museum before departing for various points of interest on the SIU SOM campus. Coffee service will be provided prior to tour. View Campus Map >
Class Activities
Noon - 4 p.m. Class of 1983	A family picnic will be hosted by Ron and Therese Romanelli. Details and directions will be provided via the class listserv.
11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Class of 1988	A family picnic will be hosted by Andy and Carol Varney. Details and directions will be provided via the class listserv.
