Research Objectives
Major research interests of our group include (1) neuronal development and pattern formation in mammalian CNS, and (2) cellular mechanisms underlying neuroplasticity and certain neurological or degenerative diseases.  We use neuroanatomic and biochemical approaches to address formation and alteration of particular neuronal populations and circuitries under normal conditions and following various experimental paradigms.  In addition, we are undertaken to determine the relationship between neuronal activity/metabolism and amyloidogenesis, and its implications for Alzheimer's disease development as well as normal neuronal/synaptic plasticity.
