Audio Rack

The audio rack holds all of the sound equipment for field recording. The rack receives the timecode from the acquisition rack so all audio can be synchronized with the video tracks in post production.

Mackie Mixer

The mixer blends the tracks from the wireless microphones into a single track. Volume levels and other sound variables can be adjusted with the mixer.

Mark of the Unicorn 828 Mixer (MOTU)

This mixer, in conjunction with AudioDesk software, allows us to capture each audio input as a separate track. In post production the tracks are available for analysis. The tracks from the MOTU unit are captured on a G4 laptop connected with a FireWire cable.

Shure SLX 4 Wireless Receivers (4)

These receivers pick up the signal from the wireless lavalier microphones.

Middle Atlantic PD915 R Power Center

This provides power for the audio rack.
