The SIU Head and Neck Oncology Team

The mission of the Head and Neck Oncology Team (HANOT) is to improve the outcome of patients with head and neck cancer by working as a team to optimize patient care, make new discoveries and educate health care providers. HANOT members will provide coordinated health care aimed at optimizing the prevention, early diagnosis and management of head and neck cancers. HANOT provides a multidisciplinary approach and has clinics in Springfield and Herrin/Carbondale. During a patient’s visit, a head and neck surgeon, medical oncologist and radiation oncologist work together to determine the most current and appropriate treatment for the patient. Other specialists work with this team to provide additional services needed.
