Location

Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU, 315 W. Carpenter Street, Springfield, Illinois

Description

Simmon's Cancert Institute at SIU (SCI) invites you to celebrate in an expression of hope and peace. The SCI's butterfly release is a beautiful way to honor the living and celebrate the memory of loved ones by sponsoring a butterfly in their names.

The ceremony will include the public reading of the names of those being honored and/or remembered, music, inspirational readings and a magnificent release of butterflies. Join us Saturday, June 22 in the Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU's Thomas Garden of Hope, at the corner of Rutledge and Miller Streets in Springfield, Illinois. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the ceremony will follow at 10:00 a.m.

The emergence of a butterfly is a sign of renewal of life and its flight symbolizes freedom and happiness. The community is invited to sponsor butterflies in memory of loved ones or in honor of someone special.

Your gift of $25 per butterfly/name, benefits Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU. Our mission is serving the people of central and southern Illinois by addressing their present and future cancer care needs through medical education, biomedical research, patient care and community service.

Pre-event registration is encouraged, however there will be a limited number of butterflies/registrations available the day of the event for $35. To sponsor a butterfly, call 217.545.2955 or online at siumed.edu/cancer.
