Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU will hold this FREE program for cancer survivors, family members and caregivers that will include tips about how to:
  • Organize your doctor’s visit
  • Effectively ask questions
  • Keep records of medications, vitamins, physical problems/concerns
  • Discuss successful communication strategies about pain, tests, medications and emotional and physical health

Guest speaker Dr. Carole Kenner, DNS, RNC-NIC, FAAN is the Dean of the School of Nursing and Assistant Dean of Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Kenner has over 30 years experience in health care and has authored many textbooks. Dr. Kenner was previously the director of Affiliate Collaborating Centers for the World Health Organization.
