Standard Research Grants are intended to support research related to breast cancer in the following areas: prevention, etiology, pathogenesis, screening, early detection, treatment and psychosocial issues. Research may include clinical trials. All research applications must be based on sound research methodology. Although many of the applications submitted are biomedical and technical in nature, the Ticket for the Cure Research Fund allows for a broad range of research topics, including behavioral studies.

This mechanism supports conceptually innovative, high-risk/high-reward research that could ultimately lead to critical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate the eradication of breast cancer. Research projects should include a well-formulated, testable hypothesis based on strong scientific rationale.
