Services of the Simmons Cancer Institute Tissue Bank Facility are available to research investigators of Southern Illinois University. To obtain tissue from the TBF, investigators are required to sign a user agreement and file an application form with the TBF. The Tissue Bank Committee prioritizes tissue allocation based on the research purposes and funding of the project and the availability of tissue. Tissue obtained from the TBF may not be distributed to third parties.

The TBF technician will work with each investigator to maximize the value of the tissue for a particular scientific study.
