In 2010, a newly centralized group of SIU educators and staff began focusing their efforts on clinical, translational and outcomes research. The SIU Center for Clinical Research (CCR) provides shared services that are difficult to maintain by individual investigators. "Concentrated research support and resources can save costs, produce economy of effort, and it promotes safety and compliance," said Sandra Puczynski, Ph.D., administrative director of the center. "Bringing everyone together made sense."
