February 28 - March 1, 2008
As at the previous nine meetings, the 2008 Hong Kong meeting will
continue to focus on the Pharmacological Therapy of Alzheimer Disease, giving particular emphasis to the discovery of new drugs.
At the same time, we will discuss the molecular and pharmacological basis of new clinical approaches. Early diagnosis and treatment
is also a selective topic of the meeting, particularly the use of imaging techniques (MRI, PET and SPECT) in examining the clinical
effect of drugs. The value of bio-markers and surrogate markers and the importance of risk factors on the therapy will also be evaluated.
Ethical issues in drug development and pharmaco-economics will be discussed.
The conference will be useful to specialists as well as non-specialists in order to understand the present
pharmacological approach to the disease. Sponsors are the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, Illinois, USA
and the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics, Geneva University Hospitals, University of Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland.
