What is HIPAA?
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services created the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in 1996 to provide Federal protection for the privacy of personal health information. HIPAA Compliance is important to the success of our organization and the confidence that our patients place in us. It is important for all members of our workforce to understand and follow our HIPAA principles and procedures.
