The on-call physician may be reached at (217) 872-3800. SIU physicians are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for our patients with an urgent medical problem. Generally the after-hours service does not refill prescriptions or provide in-person examinations. An SIU physician will return your call within 30 minutes. An SIU physician will only meet patients in the Emergency Room after they have been examined and recommended for hospital admission by an Emergency Room physician.
