Southern Illinois University School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program is an exciting place to learn Family Medicine. We accomplish this in an atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation in our unopposed community based program. This means your education on each rotation will be first-hand with your preceptor(s) without having to compete for instruction with other residents from other specialties! The end results are competent, caring physicians prepared to practice in any area they choose - urban, suburban, rural, or even in a foreign country.

We are a 15 resident program with five year accreditation status! We have five full time and one part time physician faculty, one full time physician assistant, and one part time behavioral science faculty. The program is blessed with community wide physician support - an educational benefit not enjoyed by many residency programs!
