  Curriculum

The SIU Family Medicine Residency Program in Decatur, IL, is administered by Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and is associated with Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Graduate physicians entering the SIU Family Practice Residency Program Decatur since its inception in 1974 have come from medical schools throughout the United States and abroad. Residents completing the program have entered a variety of practices, including solo and group practices, employed positions, and faculty positions at residency programs. The Program has fulfilled its mission to the Central IL area - more than 50% of our graduates have remained within a 100 mile radius of the program providing Family Medicine access for central Illinois citizens. Specifically we have placed 34 family physicians into practices in the central Illinois area, and 26 of these in the immediate Decatur community.
