Speaker: Anne McAndrews with a performance by Polish dancers in costume
August 16 - Native American Heritage Celebration
Speaker: Dr. Surbeck-Harris speaking on Native American Healing Methods
September 20- Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Speaker: Julio Velensuelo discussing "Septiembre Latino" - a presentation of the musical journey that reveals the reason Hispanic Heritage month is celebrated in the U.S. in September and what countries are celebrating their independence day, from whom and how long ago. The dances will symbolize the similarities these countries have, but also acknowledge their own distinct heritage and customs.
December 13- German Heritage Celebration
Speaker: Ann Marie Fuhrig, representing DANK, will have an historic presentation, and the Southeast High School German Club will sing Christmas Carols.
2012 will bring presentations from the following cultures: Chinese, African-American, Scottish, Indian, Latino, Norwegian, German and possibly Muslim, but not necessarily in this order!
