The Department of Family and Community Medicine is very dedicated to providing both excellent medical care and education to learners from all aspects of medicine. To best achieve these goals, we are aggressive about implementing and involving ourselves in state of the art health information technology. Health information technology develops new uses for information technology in order to solve specific problems, increase efficiency in clinical practice, improve our patient's safety, and maximize quality improvement and care. Through health information technology, we emphasize problem solving, innovation, communications, teamwork, technical skills and knowledge.
