Behavioral Health Services
Behavioral or mental health is a level of psychological well-being, or an absence of mental illness. It is the state of a patient functioning at a satisfactory level of well-being.
The Carbondale location offers outpatient counseling services provided by licensed clinical social workers who work closely with our faculty physicians to provide cooperative and complimentary treatment options.
Our licensed therapists provide therapy to children and their families who are patients of SIU Family and Community Medicine. Sessions are focused on the needs of the patient.
We provide treatment for a variety of conditions and life events, including but not limited to:
- Anger management
- Self esteem
- Behavioral problems
- Blended families
How long do appointments take?
Counseling appointments generally last about 45 minutes. Appointments can include individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. The average duration of behavioral health treatment varies by patient and should be reviewed and discussed with your assigned therapist.
Most insurances plans are accepted with the exception of Tricare. We encourage all patients to consult their insurance policy prior to scheduling their appointment at our office.
