Ricardo Loret de Mola, MD is the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Director of the SIU Fertility & IVF Center and specializes in female infertility. He has dedicated his life to helping couples achieve the dream of having a child and has done so with great success. In 2009, SIU's state of the art facility opened in Springfield, Illinois in hopes of helping even more couples who have trouble conceiving. Tobias Köhler, MD is the Chief of the Division of Male Infertility/Urology in the Department of Surgery. He specializes in the treatment of male infertility, erectile and sexual dysfunction, and BPH (enlarged prostate). An Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Köhler also sees patients at our Fertility and IVF Center located at 751 North Rutledge in Springfield.
Lisa Greenacre, WHNP is a certified Nurse Practitioner for the SIU Fertility & IVF Center. She specializes in the treatment of women's infertility, and has over 14 years experience in fertility. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in nursing, and also has a Master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She and is board-certified in both Infertility and Women's Health.
James Kontio, BA is the embryology laboratory supervisor and senior embryologist at SIU. Previously, he was IVF laboratory director for Fertility Unlimited Ohio and served as IVF manager and technical director of the in vitro fertilization service at Akron City Hospital. James received graduate training in reproductive physiology at Michigan State University and earned his bachelor's degree at Adrian College in 1983. He has been with SIU since 2008.
Vicky Gindlesperger, BA is a senior embryologist at SIU. Previously, she was fertility laboratory supervisor with Reproductive Medicine Associates of Texas and laboratory supervisor/senior clinical embryologist at University-McDonald Women’s Hospital and senior embryologist with the LIFE program at Mt. Sinai Medical Center. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the Case Western Reserve University in 1969. She has been with SIU since 2009.
Sara Zellers, RN is a Registered Nurse and has been in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SIU since 2004. She received her Nursing Degree from Lincoln Land Community College in 2002 and has been a Certified Bone Technologist since December 2007. She has also worked at the Departments of Neurology and Orthopedics at Memorial Medical Center. She has been a member of ISCD since 2007 and ASRM since 2009.
|Melissa Nicol, RD is a Registered Dietitian in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has been with SIU since 2011.|
|Shelda Borders, Ph.D. is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. She has special interest and training in health psychology. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She enjoys working with individuals with a variety of health related concerns including infertility and cancer. Dr. Borders received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University. She joined the SIU Division of Behavioral and Psychosocial Oncology in 2010.|
|Heather Glessner, MS, CGC is a genetic counselor on staff with SIU School of Medicine, having joined their faculty in October of 2008. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics with a minor in Psychology from Iowa State University and earned her Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Minnesota. Heather has well-rounded experience in genetic counseling and currently provides prenatal, infertility, and cancer genetic counseling services. She is board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. Heather is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Genetic Task Force of Illinois.|
|Ellen Thomas, MS, CGC is a board-certified and licensed genetic counselor in the Division of Genetics at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. In her current position, she provides pediatric, prenatal, and cancer genetic counseling. Ms. Thomas joined the faculty of SIU School of Medicine in February 2007. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She obtained her Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. She is board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Genetic Taskforce of Illinois. Ms. Thomas has a broad range of experience in clinical genetics. Her professional experience includes pediatric genetic counseling for infants and children with a suspected genetic disorder, comprehensive reproductive risk counseling, and cancer risk counseling.|
|Krissey Greene graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelors degree in Radiological Sciences with a specialization in Ultrasound. She currently is ARDMS certified in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular Technology. She has also been credentialed by NTQR in Nuchal Translucency Screening. Krissey is the Ultrasound and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Coordinator for SIU School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has been with SIU since 2004.|
|Becky Clinton graduated from Blessing Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in 1996. She then attended The Institute of Ultrasound Diagnostics in Mobile, AL in 1998. Becky is currently a registered sonographer with the ARDMS. She is also credentialed with the NTQR for nuchal translucency. Becky is a Medical Sonographer III and has been with SIU since 2003.|
|Nicki Nattier has a Bachelors Degree in Radiological Sciences with a specialization in Ultrasound from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She has been a registered ultrasonographer since her graduation in 2003. Nicki has been with SIU since 2005.|
|Jill McLean obtained her Associates Degree in Radiological Sciences from Lincoln Land Community College in 2002. She completed the Ultrasound Program at SIU Carbondale in 2003. She worked at Memorial Medical Center for four years and has been with SIU since 2007.|
|Holly Grider has a Bachelors Degree in Radiological Sciences with a specialization in Ultrasound from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She has been a registered sonographer since her graduation in 2006 and has ARDMS certifications in Abdomen and OB/GYN. Holly has been with SIU since May of 2010.|
|Jacki Patterson has a Bachelors Degree in Radiological Sciences with a specialization in Ultrasound from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. She has been a registered sonographer since her graduation in 2008. Jacki has been with SIU since December 2010.|
|Beth Buckley is the Financial Coordinator for the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. She handles all billing, insurance, and financial information for patients.|
|Catherine Holdman is one of two receptionist in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility that keeps the office functioning on a daily basis and she is the first one to greet you when walking through our door. She has been with SIU since 2010 and with REI since 2011.|
|Margaret Patridge is our other receptionist in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility. Maggie plays an important role in our clinic each and every day. She has been with REI since 2012.|
