SIUC Network ID

Your SIUC Network ID is "SIU + Dawg Tag number" (for example: SIU85xxxxxxxxx).
If you don't know your Dawg Tag number, you can look it up at: https://sisweb.eis.siu.edu/sis/dawgtag/


SIUC Network IDs and @siu.edu email accounts are provided and supported by SIUC Information Technology (618-453-5155)

SIUC Network ID and Password are used to access the following SIUC services in Carbondale:


SIUC Email Account
SalukiNet
SIUC wireless network - http://wireless.it.siu.edu/
non-SIUMED smart classroom and auditorium instructional computers
Morris Library computer access
SIUC computer labs
SIUC IT's Microsoft software download website
SIUC Banner system (Student Information System - SIUC) Banner Account Request Instructions for Faculty or Staff (requires previous Banner training)

To claim your SIUC Network ID and create your @siu.edu email account
Go to: https://netid.siu.edu

* IMPORTANT – To prevent your SIUC Network ID from becoming “locked”, it is  STRONGLY recommended that you forward your @siu.edu email to your @siumed.edu email account in order to receive expiring password notices.

Email Forwarding Instructions
for STUDENTS (forward @siu.edu to @siumed.edu)

  1. Go to:  office.siu.edu
  2. Log in with your SIUC Network ID and password.
  3. Click on the Forward your email link, located on the right side of the page under "shortcuts to other things you can do"
  4. In the Forward my email to: box enter your @siumed.edu email address (e.g. jdoe45@siumed.edu)
  5. Uncheck the box to "Keep a copy of forwarded messages in Outlook Web App"
  6. Click the start forwarding button

Email Forwarding Instructions for FACULTY/STAFF (forward @siu.edu to @siumed.edu)

  1. Go to: http://mail.siu.edu 
  2. Log in with your SIUC Network ID and password.
  3. Click on the Options (cogwheel) button at the top right of the Outlook Web Access screen and select Options from the menu.
  4. Click on the Organize email link on the left.
  5. Click the "+" icon and select "Create a new rule for arriving messages"
  6. Click on More Options link at the bottom of the page
  7. Enter the name of the rule (ie. Forward to siumed.edu email)
  8. Under "When message arrives, and:" box select "[Apply to all messages]"
  9. Under "Do the following", select > forward, redirect or send > Redirect the message to
  10. In the box that appears, next to the word "To:" , type your @siumed.edu email address.
  11. Press the "Ok" button at the top of the window.
