STANDARDIZED PATIENTS
"Standardized Patients" are coached to accurately and consistently recreate the history, personality, physical findings, and emotional state of an actual patient. SP's are interviewed and examined (just as you would be by your family doctor) by male and female medical students.
Standardized Patients are hired using the Extra Help (temporary) appointment type. Positions are used on an "as needed" basis.Find out more about the vital role they play in our medical education programs on both the Carbondale and Springfield campuses of SIU School of Medicine.
