SIU faculty, staff, students, and residents may borrow library materials by presenting their current identification or appointment cards at the Circulation Desk for registration in I-Sbare.

Renewals are permitted, if no other user has requested the materials. A recall/hold may be placed on circulating materials at a user's request. Materials may be recalled to the Library at any time, usually after the first four-week loan period.
Reserve materials may be requested at the Circulation Desk and are retrieved by library staff. These materials circulate on a limited basis; loan periods range from two hours to two weeks. Portable computers are available for loan (see Loanable Equipment for additional information).
