THE PEARSON MUSEUM
Location: 801 N. Rutledge Street, Springfield
IL 62702.
Hours: As a teaching museum and public
university space, the Pearson is open to the public on Tuesdays,
from 8:30 to 4:30pm. Group tours may be arranged through the office
of Public Affairs by calling 217.545.2155 or by contacting the museum's
registrar, Allona Mitchell by eMail or at 217.545.8017 (or
217.545.4261 -- Department offices).

Directions
to the Pearson Museum from Interstate 55:
Exit
I-55 onto IL29/97 and follow Clear Lake Avenue west into town.
Clear Lake becomes Jefferson at about 11th Street. Proceed
on Jefferson to 1st Street. Turn right on 1st (north) and
proceed to Carpenter Street. Turn left on Carpenter Street
(west) and proceed to Rutledge Street (4-way stop). Turn right
on Rutledge (north) and proceed to 801 N. Rutledge. Metered
public parking is available at north side of the building,
across the circular drive containing the flag pole (orange
circle in diagram below). The museum is on the second floor
in the south wing. Enter from the center courtyard door to
the right of the bronze sculpture. Should you need assistance,
the Security Office is located on the first floor, just inside
the entrance off the circular flagpole drive.
