Jatinder P. Ahluwalia, M.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and SIU Physicians & Surgeons. He is a gastroenterologist and specializes in diseases of the digestive tract.

Dr. Ahluwalia received his medical degree in 1994 from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. He then completed a gastroenterology fellowship in gastroenterology/hepatology and a postgraduate research fellowship at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Ahluwalia is a diplomate of the National Boards of Medical Examiners and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine. He is a member of numerous academic and professional organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for Study of Liver Diseases and the American Society for Cell Biology.

Dr. Ahluwalia provides evaluation and treatment services in the areas of general gastroenterology. He sees patients in the SIU Clinics Building located at 751 North Rutledge Street in Springfield in Room 1100.
