Howard B. Chodash, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and SIU Physicians & Surgeons.

Dr. Chodash received his medical degree in 1988 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. He completed his internal medicine residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester and was chief resident during his last year of training. He then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago. Most recently, Dr. Chodash was in private practice with Central Illinois Gastroenterology Associates.

Dr. Chodash is a diplomate of the National Boards of Medical Examiners and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of numerous academic and professional organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterologic Association.

Dr. Chodash provides evaluation and treatment services in the areas of general gastroenterology. He sees patients in the SIU Clinics Building located at 751 North Rutledge Street in Springfield in Room 1100.
