Nancy M. Khardori, M.D., FACP is a Professor with the Department of Internal Medicine and Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and SIU Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. Khardori is an internist and specializes in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases, infections in immunocompromised patients, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases and travel-related injections.

Dr. Khardori completed her medical degree and an internship at the Government Medical College in Sringar, India and served as a resident medical officer with State Health Services in Sringar. She then completed a fellowship at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi and was awarded her doctorate degree in microbiology and immunology.

In 1979, Dr. Khardori joined SIU School of Medicine as a Research Associate in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. In 1982 she joined the Internal Medicine residency program at North General Hospital, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and in the following two years finished her residency at SIU School of Medicine in Springfield. Dr. Khardori completed her medical training with a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston where she also served as a faculty member for four years.

Dr. Khardori has received numerous awards and honors throughout her distinguished career. She is a member of many professional societies including the American College of Physicians, the American Society for Microbiology and the American Medical Association. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and infectious diseases.
