Sumanta Mitra, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Mitra attended medical school at Calcutta Medical College, University of Calcutta in Calcutta, India and received his training in Internal Medicine at Calcutta Medical College Hospitals. Dr. Mitra completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Wayne State University Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan and the Royal Salop Infirmary in Shrewsbury, England. He was a fellow in Nephrology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Mitra is a Clinical Professor, Division of Nephrology, with Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.

His special interests include hypertension, hemodialysis and renal transplant.
