COMP DIETARY
EVALUATION
The COMP Dietary Evaluation
is conducted during a patient's initial appointment in the COMP
Clinic. It lasts approximately one hour and is conducted by a
Registered Dietitian. The dietitian discusses the medical, family,
social and diet history of the patient. The dietitian then devises
an individualized dietary plan, working with the patient's food
preferences, habits, and lifestyle, in order to create a balanced
and healthy eating plan to promote weight loss. Exercise is also
encouraged as part of a
healthy lifestyle; fitness plans are developed with each patient's
needs in mind. All patients are encouraged to follow up on a regular
basis with the dietitian to provide positive re-enforcement and
to monitor the dietary behavior.
COMP PSYCHOLOGICAL
EVALUATION
A psychological evaluation
is conducted during a patient's initial appointment in the COMP
Clinic. It lasts approximately one hour and is conducted by a
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. The counselor discusses
various social, psychological and environmental factors that may
or may not influence eating disorders and a patient's participation
in the COMP program.

BY BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN

history and physical examination, assessment of medical complications
related to obesity, necessary laboratory and other investigations.
This is followed by an in depth discussion of all the options
for weight reduction and maintenance of weight reduction.
