- Don't take any medicine
unless you understand all the instructions for using it safely.
- Don't stop or change
your medicine dosage without consulting your physician, even if
you're feeling better.
- Don't use another person's
medications, and don't give yours to anyone else; it may be harmful.
- Don't wait until your
supply of medicine is empty to renew your prescription. Always have
several days supply on hand, especially when traveling or during
vacations and holidays.
- Don't mix medicines
with other medicines in the same bottle.
- Don't keep old or outdated
medicines that look changed or damaged. Discard by dumping them
in the toilet and flushing.
- Don't take medicines
in the dark. Turn on the lights to avoid taking the wrong medicine.
- Don't drink alcoholic
beverages; don't drive or operate machinery while taking medications
without first checking with your doctor.
- Don't store medication
in the bathroom cabinet. Heat and moisture may destroy the medicine.
