In this rotation, residents will improve their competency level in the management of inpatients. This will include not only patients from the SIU clinic, but patients admitted to the hosptialist service. Communication and continuity skills will be stressed, in addition to issues revolving around patient management.
Residents: Evaluate and manage patients admitted to the hospital with supervision by attending physician. Residents write initial H&P, daily orders, progress and procedure notes, and the discharge for each patient. Please refer to the Intern Guidelines for Ward Medicine document at the end of this section.
