Memorial Medical Center

Founded
in 1897, Memorial Medical Center (MMC), offers comprehensive inpatient,
outpatient and home health services to the residents of central
and southern Illinois.
Tertiary care available at Memorial includes a variety of specialized
services. The Regional Cancer Center provides comprehensive cancer
care, including the latest research protocols available through
the Community Clinical Oncology Program of the National Cancer Institute.
MMC is a complex,multi-disciplinary unit consisting of several units,
including:
1. The Regional Kidney Center
2. MMC's Regional Burn Center
3. The Center for Neuromuscular Sciences
4. Regional Trauma Center
5. State of the art cardiac and pulmonary services cover a variety
of comprehensive medical and surgical services
MMC's philosophy is to provide quality patient care in the teaching
environment of a full-service hospital. In addition to its affiliation
agreement with SIU School of Medicine, it also is affiliated with
the University of Illinois at Springfield, Lincoln Land Community
College and Springfield School District 186. MMC operates schools
for respiratory therapy, radiologic technology and histology, as
well as a training program for nursing assistants.
