Write For Success
Preparing a Successful Professional School Application, Revised 1999
This book, extensively revised in 1999, is geared specifically to helping you write clearly for the tasks related to the health professions application process.
Through the use of examples of both successful and unsuccessful AMCAS Personal Comments pages, critical reviews by admissions officers, and experienced advice from the authors, Write for Success will help you realize your dream of matriculating to a health professional school.
The importance of writing clearly must not be underestimated. Some admissions committees report that among candidates who meet minimum admissions criteria, factors other than GPA and entrance exam scores are more important to the committee than those numbers combined. One of the other criteria specifically mentioned is the personal comment section of the health professional application.
