Prospective Resident Information

Now in its 15th year, our combined residency program in Medicine - Psychiatry provides residents a high quality educational environment in both specialties as well as specific educational activities designed to facilitate the integration of their knowledge and skills.

Throughout your residency, there is emphasis on specific medical problems of psychiatric patients, psychiatric problems of medical patients and the care of individuals whose health needs have crossed these traditional specialty boundaries. Following completion, the resident will be board eligible in both medicine and psychiatry.

Both the Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry have an active role in producing physicians specializing in this area. 

The clinical experiences in both departments ensure that residents meet all board requirements required by both specialties. By completing a residency in internal medicine and psychiatry you have the opportunity to be one a few uniquely trained physicians in the United States.
