Welcome to the Neurology Clinic
Our Mission
The SIU Neurology Clinic is part of SIU Physicians and Surgeons. The mission of the Neurology Clinic is three-fold:
Provide excellent diagnosis and treatment for patients with neurological diseases. Provide educational support to the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. Advance general scientific knowledge of neurological disease through clinical studies of patients with these diseases.
Our People
Our neurologists are certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and each emphasizes a particular sub-specialty of neurology, allowing us as a group to maintain an overall excellence comparable to any in the nation. The care of our physicians is complemented by an excellent and highly experienced staff of nurse practioners, nurses, and support personnel. In addition, our patients benefit from the efforts of various learners of neurology--SIU Neurology resident physicians and medical students.
Special Programs
In addition to general neurologic care, the Department features several comprehensive programs in Alzheimer's Disease, Epilepsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Neurorehabilitaton, Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders and Stroke. There are also many ongoing clinical trials to study new therapies for these conditions.

More Information
Waiting for your appointment
Sometimes there is a long wait for your appointment. We apologize for this, and are working on ways to reduce the wait. If you feel your case is urgent, please contact your primary physician, who can call and ask for a work-in appointment.
Why can't I get an appointment on Tuesday?
Our neurologists are not only physicians, but also educators, scientists, administrators, and leaders in their field. Some of our neurologists see out-patients every day, others only two days per week.
Reminders
We use an automated reminder system that will call to remind you of your upcoming appointment the day before you are to be seen in clinic.
Cancellations and no shows
If for any reason you will be unable to keep your appointment, please call to cancel your appointment. If you simply do not show up for your appointment, that appointment time will not be available for other patients. If you are a "no show" your very first appointment with us, your appointment will not be rescheduled. Established patients who are repeated "no shows" will be discharged from the SIU Clinic system, not just the Neurology Clinic.
At the Neurology Clinic
Please arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early so that reception can check you in. Be sure to bring your insurance information and the questionnaire we have provided you. If you have lost your questionnaire, click here to print one out now.
