Hurricane relief from the heartland Wednesday, Sept. 26

SIU is hosting a Casual Day Wednesday, September 26, to collect money for the Hurricane Florence relief and recovery efforts in the Carolinas. Donations can be made through your Casual Day coordinator, the Office of Marketing and Communications or directly to the American Red Cross.

On Thursday, October 4, in honor of the King’s Daughters Organization’s 125th Anniversary, Beth Nolan PhD, a national speaker, will present a free talk titled, "Understanding Dementia - A Positive Approach," designed for family, friends and hands-on care staff to improve skills to help Care Givers become Care Partners.  SIU Medicine's Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders and the Neuroscience Institute are partnering with King's Daughters Organization for this event.  Learn more at

Join SIU Medicine and Memorial Medicine Center for Taking Alzheimer's Care Beyond the Medical Center, a reception celebrating the Center for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders' new partnership with Memorial Medical Center. Light hors d'oevres and cocktails will be served. All are welcome to attend.

The reception follows the day-long Annual Memory Loss Conference for health care professionals.
