Erin R. Hascup, PhD has a B.S. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky. She completed two international Post-Doctoral Fellows at the Karolinska Institute and McGill University before joining the CADRD team at SIU School of medicine in 2012. Dr. Hascup became an Assistant Professor in the Center for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, Department of Neurology at SIU School of Medicine in 2013 and has a cross-appointment with the Department of Pharmacology. Her primary research evaluates glutamatergic neurotransmission influence on and regulation of Alzheimer’s disease through cognitive evaluation, in vivo electrochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.
Dr. Hascup has given presentations at several national and international conferences including the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference, the Society for Neuroscience Meeting, the International mGluR Meeting, the Winter Conference on Brain Research, the Institute of Biological Engineering Meeting, and Monitoring Molecules in Neuroscience International Conference, and the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Workshop on Neuropsychopharmacology for Young Scientist. She has also authored several peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and has served as a member on grant review committees.
