Paula Rauschkolb, DO is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at SIU School of Medicine and SIU Healthcare. She serves as Director of Neuro-Oncology, and specializes in the treatment of brain tumors and neurological complications of cancer. She works with the Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU in both clinical and research capacities. Research interests include immunological approaches to treatment of cancer and exploration of novel drugs designed to target specific tumor types.
Dr. Rauschkolb received her bachelor’s degree in cell biology and physiology from Arizona State University. She earned her medical degree at the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed postdoctoral training in neurology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, followed by subspecialty training in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Dr. Rauschkolb is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society for Neuro-Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Academy of Neurology. She has co-authored articles, abstracts and book chapters on neurological conditions, and has served as principal investigator on several projects.
