Where can I obtain information about epilepsy?

Q: Hi. My name is Carrie. I am 16 and have epilepsy. I have grand mal seizures. I have had about 50 seizures in my life. It is terrible. If you have any new imformation I would appreciate it if you would send me an e mail so I can check it out. Thanks,

A: As you have already found, the Web is a pretty good place to start for general information on epilepsy. The Epilepsy Foundation of America (http://www.efa.org) has a number of references and sends a newletter out on a regular basis. They also carry a number of books intended for patients and their families. Many of the epilepsy Web sites (such as this one) make an effort to keep current information posted.

It sounds like your epilepsy is poorly controlled. I suggest that you consider going to one of the many epilepsy centers available, if you are not already doing so. Best wishes.
