I am chair of the Epilepsy Resource Connection, Wichita, Ks. This is a grassroots program based in a non profit agency that deals with seizures as a secondary disability. ERCs emphasis is on psyco/social issues so common with epilepsy but for which limited services exist. We got startup funds from the local United Way for 5 months and for the Wichita metro area. We intend to expand the state of Ks. We are in need of additional funding sources. Sources who have a special interest in epilepsy. Any guidance or suggestions you might have will be appreciated. • Apply to your local United Way for 1 yr grant now that you have established a track record
• Approach your state for a grant from their Department of Rehabilitation
• Contact large corporations that may be providing funding for community projects.
