The Epilepsy Resource Center provides the following services:
Information and Assistance
ERC provides accurate and current information about epilepsy, epilepsy-related issues and available community services and resources to individuals, families, agencies, employers and the community at large.

Epilepsy is often misunderstood. It is not unusual for persons with epilepsy, their families, and the community to make decisions based on inaccurate information. The Information and Assitance Program also helps people find solutions to problems and provides advocacy for persons living with epilepsy.

Individual and Family Services
ERC helps individuals and families cope with epilepsy and concomitant problem areas, seek information and make choices to improve the quality of their lives.

Epilepsy is a chronic and complex disorder. There is a wide variation in type, severity, frequency, cause, age of onset and response to medical treatment. Persons with epilepsy are at risk for psychosocial, social, educational, employment, financial and legal problems. ERC provides assistance to "sort through," identify and solve these problems.

Job Placement
ERC's Job Placement Program offers a range of services designed to assist people with epilepsy and other disabilities to find and maintain employment.

Services include initial assessment, setting employment goals, resume preparation, disclosure training, job placement and follow up. ERC provides services in cooperation with the Il. Dept. of Human Serivces/Office of Rehabilitation Services.

Community Education
ERC promotes epilepsy education throughout central Illinois to increase awareness, understanding and acceptance of the disorder and dispel myths and misconception. Public and professional education and school alert programs are provided at no cost. Programs include seizure first-aid, general information, medication, medical care and educational and social issues.
