New Web Page Introduced

The School of Medicine's home page has been redeveloped with a new look and feel. The page incorporates the new School of Medicine logo and is designed to reflect a fresher look and more contemporary approach for the many audiences that use the Web page, especially the public. The redesign was based on a review of all other U.S. medical school Web pages, with a goal of reducing the amount of text and number of links on the School's main Web page.

The new page has several new navigation features. There are mission-based 'portals' across the top of the page and audience 'portals' down the left side, grouping similar links together for ease of use. This portal access is complemented by several links at the top right of the page, including a new A-Z index of links, which allows one-click connections to pages and supports naming variations (e.g., Human Resources and Jobs/Careers). The Directory link now features a look-up format. This will greatly reduce the exposure of siumed.edu e-mail addresses to e-mail spammers. Links that are especially relevant to (or restricted to) current School of Medicine faculty, staff, students, and residents are available through one-click to a new my.siumed.edu portal. The my.siumed.edu portal allows School of Medicine users to to access the links as provided or to customize their own collection of links.
