Dr. Melissa M. Agoudemos, Ph.D

Dr. Melissa M. Agoudemos, Ph.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as assistant professor of pediatrics, specializing in pediatric cardiology.   She is one of the pediatric specialists recruited as part of St. John’s Children’s Hospital, which is a joint endeavor of SIU and St. John’s Hospital in Springfield. 

Agoudemos completed both a three-year fellowship in pediatric cardiology and pediatric residency at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City (2010, 2007).  She earned her medical and doctorate degrees from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee (2004, 2002) and her bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (1996).

Agoudemos is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.  She has authored several professional publications.
