Dr. Aman Ali has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of gastroenterology. He specializes in advanced invasive endoscopy for disease of the biliary tract and pancreas, ERCP and endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) treatment of the GI tract, and minimally invasive treatments of cancers of the GI tract.
He recently completed a three-year fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Lenox Hill Hospital in Lenox Hill, N.Y. (2009). He also completed fellowships in advanced therapeutics and interventional endoscopy at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women Hospital at Harvard Medical School (2010). He completed his medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation (2005). Ali earned his medical degree at King Edward Medical University (1999) and his bachelor’s at the University of Punjab (1997), both in Lahore, Pakistan.
Ali is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, and the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society. He has authored several professional publications.
