Kelly A. Armstrong, Ph.D., has joined the faculty at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine as an assistant professor of medical humanities.
She was a clinical ethicist at Memorial Health Systems in Springfield (2003-10) and continues on their staff. She previously was on the voluntary faculty at SIU (2003-10). Armstrong completed her doctorate in comparative biomedical ethics, master’s in moral theology and bachelor’s in biology and chemistry at the University of Iowa (2006, 2003, 2001).
Armstrong is a member of the educational committee for the Society of Medical Decision Making and also is a member of the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, the Society for Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the American Society for Quality and American Academy of Religion. She has had several articles published in professional journals on clinical ethics and end-of-life care.
